Welcome

And so it begins… Monday, August 15th marks the beginning of a school year that can be truly outstanding for all of us! God has blessed our church and school beyond our expectations, and it’s our responsibility to acknowledge and honor Him in every way. As your new school administrator, I promise to be open and honest and to work hard to keep everyone informed about what’s happening here at WCA. My prayer is that our students will find Wade Christian Academy a place they can make life-long friends; learn in a safe, loving environment that promotes academic excellence; and experience a closer walk with Jesus along the way.

Our theme this year is simply “Excellence”. We’re striving for excellence in everything we do at WCA. With God’s help, we can see excellence in academics and athletics, excellence in teaching, excellence in our buildings and classrooms, excellence in our personal relationships, and excellence in our walk with God. The faculty and staff worked extra hard this summer to improve our school; I hope you’ve noticed some of the changes. Our teachers have also rededicated themselves to be the best they can be.

With God’s help, this can be our best year here at WCA! We want to keep God first in everything we do this year. Colossians 3:23 is an excellent verse that captures that spirit of excellence and sums up what it will take to make it happen:

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Finally, pray for our school. Pray for the teachers, staff, and students. I’m praying for you, and it’s my hope that our students will find Godly success here at WCA; academically, personally, and spiritually. My door is always open and I welcome any suggestions you might have that can help make Wade Christian Academy a place of excellence that truly honors God in every way.

Let’s Have a Great Year!

Mr. Ed Buchanan
Administrator, WCA

“The Procrastinator’s Creed” – Author Unknown

I believe that if anything is worth doing, it would have been done already.
I shall never move quickly, except to avoid more work or find excuses.
I will never rush into a job without a lifetime of consideration.
I shall meet all of my deadlines directly in proportion to the amount of bodily injury I could expect to receive from missing them.
I firmly believe that tomorrow holds the possibility for new technologies, astounding discoveries, and a reprieve from my obligations.
I truly believe that all deadlines are unreasonable regardless of the amount of time given.
I shall never forget that the probability of a miracle, though very small, is not exactly zero.
If at first I don’t succeed, there is always next year.
I shall always decide not to decide, unless of course I decide to change my mind.
I shall always begin, start, initiate, take the first step, and/or write the first word, when I get around to it.
I obey the law of inverse excuses which demands that the greater the task to be done, the more insignificant the work that must be done prior to beginning the greater task.
I know that the work cycle is not plan/start/finish, but is wait/plan/plan.
I will never put off until tomorrow, what I can forget about forever.

2011 Walk-a-thon

A BIG THANK YOU to all who participated in the 2011 Walk-a-thon.  Our students had a great time at the Walk-a-thon event and they were able to raise over $7,000.  Also, there are still a few pledges to collect.  If you have outstanding pledges, please get the money to the school office as soon as possible.  If you would still like to donate to the school, please feel free to do so at the WCA school office or designate your contribution for “WCA Walk-a-thon” at any of the First Baptist Church of South Brevard church services.

A special thanks goes to Ed & Roberta Buchanan.  Together, they made sure that everyone had plenty of hot dogs, hamburgers, and cold drinks.  Another big thanks went to the elementary students that raised $125 or more.  They were able to enjoy a fun afternoon on the water slide after they had finished their 50 walk-a-thon laps.  Thanks again to everyone that helped us this year.
